Having the faith to walk out

I did not watch the 2014 Grammys. But I heard about it just the same. A friend posted “Are u serious??????? No they didn’t!!! Can’t even watch Grammys anymore!!!!” I didn’t even ask what she referred to because I was sure I didn’t want to know.

I remember the infamous Super Bowl half-time show that was touted as a “wardrobe malfunction” but you could clearly tell that the entire thing was set up to go off just like that. Just last year the internet erupted over Miley Cyrus’ risque dance complete with “twerking”. And yet she has become more popular after the fact and has gained notoriety and more sold out shows. The disgust has turned into intrigue and she made more money.

Hollywood and the entertainment industry has gradually perverted the mind with what you see and hear on a daily basis. Movies have only been around for the past hundred years or so, but they have done so much damage. There were no “celebs” 150 years ago and certainly not in Jesus’ time. No one turned on TMZ to catch the latest gossip on someone that is going by an alias because their birth name did not sound cool enough on a lithograph so they trade it for a stage name.

Natalie Grant who was nominated for a Grammy this year for “Hurricane” tweeted this today:

//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js“>We left the Grammy’s early. I’ve many thoughts, most of which are probably better left inside my head. But I’ll say this: I’ve never been more honored to sing about Jesus and for Jesus. And I’ve never been more sure of the path I’ve chosen.

While she did not say what the reason was, there is much speculations. The gay community is accusing her of not wanting to stay behind and watch a mass wedding complete with same-sex couples. The atheist community is calling her a bigot for not wanting to watch Katy Perry acting like a witch and dancing around with demons.

I will not say why she left, but I will say that I am proud she did. If your faith is at odds with what you are seeing and hearing, then you better have the faith to stand up, gather your belongings and walk out the door. I hope and pray that the other Christian artists that were in attendance had the faith to do the same.

Man is not honored by man. God will not be mocked. We are living in a day when the world has literally turned things upside down. Things that are good are mocked as bad and immorality is good.

Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such thing. Phil. 4:8.

Be careful little ears and eyes what you hear and see, because satan is quick and sneaky and he is taking over things. Be on guard!
